Discussion Around Implementation of Additional Countries #234

UI Decisions

1) How will we navigate between countries in dashboard?

A. Should there be a default country that is zoomed in on for each user along with some way to select a new country or allow user to select from their designated countries and then show stations for that one?

B. (Idea) We could have a dropdown in the nav that allows someone to select a country that would then show the country on the map and change links in the navigation bar to correlate to selected country (pull in station list to the dropdown, etc.)

2) Will we have alerts for interception numbers pop up for each country in the dashboard (no matter what country is currently being shown) or just show totals for every station?

3) Will there be separate pages for each country’s IRF/VIF view page or will we just filter the forms based on a filter?

4) Should a user be able to see other country’s stations and progress on the dashboard but not be able to see form data? Alternatively, do we only allow user to see information about their designated countries?

Technical Decisions

5) How will we support different countries’ currencies (specifically in Budget Forms)? Will we store the currency in the border station model or budget model? Can currency be assumed based on the station?

6) How will we determine which set of forms/photos we want to export with IRF/VIF and interceptee photos.

A. Will it be based on whatever information is being shown (assuming we have a filtering system that allows you to pick country) or would there be a menu that lets you choose a country?

7) Is event calendar going to be affected by different countries? Could country designation be specified in event description? (i.e. user creates event to be seen by staff with specific country designations)

Should we drop events altogether?
