Lanterns create a strange effect when dynamic lights is installed (even if it is disabled in options)
All other light sources I tested did not cause the bug, including, held lanterns, glowstone, redstone ore, torches, all furnaces, lava, and cave vines.
Other lights do, however, interact with the borders and distort them
