If I made the age checks at the start of each new cycle, I might catch the instances of later program crashes because the data would slowly evaporate over time and someone might notice quicker that the display doesn't show anything.

It might also self-correct given enough time, since the offending file causing the crash would be deleted eventually...needs further thought though.

No longer needed with the error image tagging, so I'm closing this one.
