add a new group called 'bts' manually to the data file will let the app cannot recognize the datafile and return empty group list.

This is the expected behavior. When adding a group to the data file, the file might have been corrupted as the new data was not in the correct format (assumed to be the case, as insufficient information was provided to determine how exactly the file was changed). In that scenario, an empty group list will be returned, as we cannot populate the group list with default data as the contacts might not exist.

Also, since users and testers are not expected to tamper with files directly except for something like deleting them (see this forum question), we will be downgrading the severity of this issue to low as well.
