Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. I'm always frustrated when [...]

See https://papermc.io/software/waterfall, Waterfall is no longer getting updates.

Describe the solution you'd like A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

A move to something else e.g. Velocity.

Describe alternatives you've considered A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.

You could you BungeeCord instead, however that does not have the performance gains of Waterfall or an alternative (Velocity).

Additional context Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

Waterfall is not dead. Waterfall likely still gets updates for new minecraft versions.

Unlike MangoCord, which had last change 8 months ago and last actually end-product-imacting change 10 months ago.

And, by the way, did remove bungeecord's native cipher implementation without a replacement implementation.

Edit 2: What features in MangoCord are you actively missing in Velocity that you want a whole project to now be based on Velocity? Velocity has, in many cases, taken the principle of bungeecord and uses different code structure and implemented similar performance improvements.

Waterfall is not dead. Waterfall likely still gets updates for new minecraft versions.

The announcement says

Mojang is making huge investments into the core engine of the game which results in big and complicated changes to the inner workings of the game. ... We don't think we can find enough people from our team and contributors to put that work into Waterfall anymore, we want to focus our efforts on our flagship projects Paper and Velocity.

This statement basically says they do not want to work on it any more. This may result in a lack of updates (or slow updates) that may result in months after a new MC version with no Waterfall version.

What features in MangoCord are you actively missing in Velocity that you want a whole project to now be based on Velocity?

For Velocity I haven't seen many free bot detection plugins that have Geyser support (and have recent updates), if there are please send a link.

What will change is that you will see even more sporadic updates. You also shouldn't count on updates to new Minecraft versions, although we aren't ruling that out at this time.

This and that PRs with Waterfall updates came to be, makes me think that Waterfall will continue to get updates.

The protocol, which is relevant to the proxy, has improved to a point where entity rewrite and bunch of other stuff is no longer needed and while Mojang might do big internal changes, I doubt they will alter the protocol in weird ways.

I think however if yo uwant to switch to velocity, do not attempt rely on this unmaintained project to get bot protection/detection.
