Your homework has already demonstrated the ability of communication from the native end to the web end, but it has not shown the capability of communication from the web end to the native end. You can refer to the elevation profile feature in the ArcGIS Earth desktop application, where moving or clicking the mouse on the elevation profile map highlights the corresponding point on the scene.

This is a high-priority issue.
