Grouping by tag hides all manga/anime in the library #124

Closed boredSage closed 3 months ago

boredSage commented 3 months ago

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the filter options for the library
  2. Go to the Group section
  3. Select 'Tags'

Expected behavior

The mangas should be grouped by their tags

Actual behavior

All manga (or anime if done in the anime tab) in the library disappears. And I can no longer access the filters, making it impossible to undo the grouping.

Crash logs

No response

Kuukiyomi version

0.3.2

Android version

Android 10

Device

Moto E7 Plus

Other details

It won't go back to normal even when restarting the app. So far the only way I found to "fix" it is by clearing the storage of the app, which deletes all your data and it's like you just installed the app.

That is intended. If you group by tags, there must be at least 4 mangas in one grouped category. It's like this to prevent too many groups being made and resulting in the app lagging or even crashing.

Now I understand. I tried it and it worked, thanks @LuftVerbot . However, I must say that I, as the user, have no way of knowing of such requirement.

Also, having "Your library is empty" on the screen is very confusing, like, where did all my manga go, were they deleted? You see where I'm going? Maybe it should say something along the lines of "In order to have a tag appear you need a minimum 4 mangas/animes in it". Either that or when the 'group by tags' option is selected a prompt appears informing the user the minimum of 4 entries for a tag to appear, but I'm not a big fan of this second option.

Now the real problem is being "locked out". If I haven't met the requirement of 4 entries and I don't know about it there's just nothing I can do to "recover" the manga/anime in my library that is now "empty". And, like I said in my original post, that's because nothing happens when the user clicks on the filters. (video bellow demonstrating it).

Also, while recording the video I noticed that once the it says "your library is empty" even if somehow you learn about the requirement and add more mangas to the library just to reach the said requirement does not work, even after restarting the app, btw I added 10 mangas all WITH the 'fantasy' tag and it still didn't work.

I hope I was helpful. :)

@LuftVerbot ? Are you sure there's nothing to fix? ⬆️

LuftVerbot commented 3 months ago

I will stop working on kuukiyomi and merge everything into aniyomi. So at the moment fixing stuff or changing it isn't my intention. Will probably take a look at it while I merge this feature at some point.

@LuftVerbot That's a shame, I really liked where Kuukiyomi was going :(
