it too.
ill try and confirm this bug when i can

I can confirm that it has nothing to do with the DVD spin fix. However I tried
preloader 0.30r1 by phpgeek, it doesn't have the issue. However, the 0.30r3 has
this
issue. I guess it is introduced during that period. If you still have the
history of
those source code (and have time, of course), please take a look of that.

IF i can still find the source of his first preloader release... (which is gone
in
the wind i fear...)

I am not sure how you can find the history code from phpgeek, I guess you have
his
contact? or maybe not.
Anyway, here is the change log for 0.30 R2 and 0.30 r3, it looks like the bug
was
intruduced in one of these 2 releases.
CHANGELOG Revision 3
====================
-fixed issue with the boot state that could cause the wii to power down during
boot
CHANGELOG Revision 2
====================
-fixed temperamental issue with autobooting
-fixed issue with shutdown to preloader
-fixed issue causing unpredictable behavior when reading settings
-disabled mounting sd when launching installed dol (can cause stack dump)
To me, it looks more likely in the R3 change.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

he uploaded the source with every rev he did however im not sure where to find
the
source >_>
also, i think its better to wait for 0.2 cause i reverted and improved the
bootstate
handling.
IF the boostate handling is at fault (which i doubt)

Great, I will stay tuned and looking forward the new 0.2 release. :-)

i just got the error trough GeckoOS
my disc was an original TimeSplitters 2 pal disc, what was yours?
also, i ONLY get this if booted trough geckoos ... :/
can i get some detailed info on what channels you are booting & what disc cause
this
is specific and looks to be fine on my side except when booting with geckoOS

I've tried orginal games, backup games, all behave the same.
I am booting the games from the Disc Channel since I have wasabi dx installed.
All
my IOS are official except ios36 (trucha bug restored) and cios202, cios222,
cios223, cios249, cios250.
I guess there could be some conflict between teh region free of wasabi
dx/GeckoOS
with preloader/priiloader's bootstats.
I've played a little bit more of other versions of preloader, only phpgeek's
0.30r1
and 0.30r2 works for this issue, but they have other issue to prevent the wii
from
startup, I have to press the reset to go to preloader everytime I want to start
my
wii. I think you are right, it must be something to do with the bootstats code
in
priiloader/preloader.
Thanks

i fear its not but ok. and with channels i meant in the way how to reproduce
you gave
what channels are you trying to boot? :-/

Ok, I will list the steps here again, and hope it helps.
1. turn on wii and put in any game disc.
2. run the game from disc channel/first channel and then exit game. This step
is
optional.
3. Go to any other channel, I tried Mii, shop, HBC, CFG USB Loader forward,
ideally,
any channel other than first disc channel.
4. exit the channel and wii returns to system menu.
Now, the DVD drive stopped working, either wait for a while or try to enter
disc
channel again, I get that black screen with "An error has occurred...." message.
priiloader settings:
All SM hacks turned off, actually it doesn't matter here since I tried a lot
combinations.
AUTO_BOOT = System Menu
RETURN_TO= AUTO_BOOT
All other settings are turned off
IOS used for system menu: tried IOS60, IOS249v14, IOS223v4, IOS36
Hoep this helps.

Yep, it's wierd that it seems only I got the problem.
However, I've got .30r3 source code but nowhere to find .30r2 source to see
what
could cause the problem. My guess is the problem in bootstates.

try that. its basicly the upcoming 0.2 but still in beta testing >_> (note the

Ok, Daco,
I've just tried 0.2, it seems the problem I described has been fixed (that's
great),
however there is another problem. When I disable connect24, the wii won't boot
to
system menu automatically, instead, it will always boot to priiloader no matter
what
setting I tied.
When I enable connect24 on standby, everything works great.
I hope it is the same issue that you described as "silly return". If so, will
you
release a 0.2-fix?
Thanks

Haha, I hope you are a girl. (Obviously, you are not :p) It seems there is less
girls who love me recently. :-)
I'm glad to help, and looking forward for your fix.
Original comment by small.so...@gmail.com

its already fixed. made a fix before going to work lol
its because when wiiconnect245 is off the bootstate is 1 (and not 0 for some odd
reason) when powering on. this means priiloader goes for default actions which
is :
booting priiloader
my bootstate handling works perfect :P i just have a few unknown states XD

Hi, Daco,
Is that possible for you to make a build for r32 so that I can test it? Or
shall I
wait till 0.3?
Thanks
Joe

Never mind, Daco,
I've compiled the code myself and installed it to my Wii, everything works
great.
