  1. I stated this in the API/Schema review, but I think you should add an incentive for users to keep the prices listed on the app up-to-date with the prices found within the store. One way you could do this is with a rewards program that earns points when a user updates an item's price and others use it. However, you would have to add in exploit protection to prevent users from spamming updated prices to farm points. You could allow users to say a listing is inaccurate and dock the poster's reward points. Maybe add a "cooldown" time before a user can update a grocery price again to aid this.
  2. Potentially connected to the rewards, it would be great if you could incorporate coupons into your app so that people can go to the lowest-cost stores with those in mind. The coupons could be purchased with rewards points and once held, they could be included in your calculation of lowest-cost basket.
