I hope this makes sense:

Scenario: A user may wish to monitor various websites, but may have different levels of interest. For example, An IT Manager may monitor 100 external websites for determining quality of internet performance over a period of time.

In addition they need to monitor 30 internal webapps, which are critical, and need to keep a constant eye on both ping and availability.

Issue: The IT Manager has no way of seperating the Websites and the WebApps, so its very difficult to keep a vigilant eye on the WebApps.

Resolution: Add someway of categorizing/tagging/group each website being monitored, then add filtering for this to the dashboards and tables. This categoriation would also allow the IT Manager to copy the visualisation to other dashboards and edit the search critieria (For example, different departments had their own WebApps, the IT Manager could give each department a seperate dashboard they can monitor).

I've "butchered" a category field into it, I think this would work quite well for basic filtering. But the idea of being able to add multiple tags per Monitor would make each Monitor more re-useable.

I really like this idea. I think I can implement it fairly quickly. Let me get something started. I might ask you some questions later to clarify how it ought to work.

Just wondering if you are still open to this? :)

I am. My schedule has been really packed lately so I haven't gotten to it yet. Sorry for the delay.
