Disable shader cache compilation. For Linux, this is no longer needed as of Mesa 23.2.0 thanks to the faster Graphics Pipeline Library (GPL) now used by AMD and Intel. The proprietary NVIDIA driver has already had fast shader compilation for a long time.

Steam > Settings > Downloads > Enable Shader Pre-caching: No

Graphics pipeline library support was added for each graphics card vendor in these releases:

AMD = Mesa 23.1.0.
