[unix_distributions][fedora] Forking Fedora and branding #1050

Fedora has strict policies about using its branding. Only official spins are allowed to be called Fedora and use their logos. For the logos, use the generic-logos package instead of the fedora-logos package.

$ less fedora-logos.spec
%description
The fedora-logos package contains image files which incorporate the
Fedora trademarks (the "Marks"). The Marks are trademarks or registered
trademarks of Red Hat, Inc. in the United States and other countries and
are used by permission.
This package and its content may not be distributed with anything but
unmodified packages from Fedora Project. It can be used in a Fedora Spin,
but not in a Fedora Remix. If necessary, this package can be replaced by
the more liberally licensed generic-logos package.
See the included COPYING file for full information on copying and
redistribution of this package and its contents.
$ cat /usr/share/licenses/fedora-logos/COPYING
Fedora®, the Fedora word design, and the Infinity design logo, either separately or in combination, are hereinafter referred to as "Fedora Trademarks" and are
trademarks of Red Hat, Inc., registered in the United States and other countries.

The fedora-logos package ("Package") contains images that are or include the Fedora Trademarks. You are granted the right to use the Package during the normal
operation of software spins approved by the Fedora Project that call upon the Package. You are also granted a license to copy and redistribute an unmodified Package as
part of an accepted Fedora spin.

All uses of this Package, its content and the Trademarks must comply with the Fedora Trademark Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Legal:Trademark_guidelines.
In the case of conflict between the license granted herein and the Fedora Trademark Guidelines, the Fedora Trademark Guidelines will control.

All such rights are granted to you provided that the above trademark legend and this license are included with each copy you make, and they remain intact and are not
altered, deleted, or modified in any way.

SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA OR PROFITS; OR BUSINESS
INTERRUPTION) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT
OF THE USE OF THIS PACKAGE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.

$ less generic-logos.spec
%description
The generic-logos package contains various image files which can be
used by the bootloader, anaconda, and other related tools. It can
be used as a replacement for the fedora-logos package, if you are
unable for any reason to abide by the trademark restrictions on the
fedora-logos or fedora-remix-logos package.

Very useful information here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Legal:Trademark_guidelines#Usage_That_Requires_Permission

An important topic is that (1) the distribution can only be officially labelled as a "Fedora Remix" (no other wording can be used here) and (2) there must be a mention in the documentation of where to get unmodified vanilla Fedora.
