ueberzug is maintained here but i guess a release being pushed back in july will count as not maintained to some...

Also ueberzug from ueber-devel is working without any problems (using it with vifm).

OK, guys. Closing, as if the fork you mentioned is still being maintained, it's better overall to not replace it with a new package that could potentially result in some unexpected issues.
