Request: Lemmy forum software #274

Lemmy is a federated reddit alternative. Many different user-run instances can participate in lemmy discussion forums. I think it fits well into the common theme of the Landchad guides: self-hosted, federated, communication/discussion software.

A landchad installation guide without using docker would be appreciated.

Here ya go, I don't think lemmy deserves a spot here because federation is inherently for skittles people. I don't believe we need a federated version of r!ddit here.

I checked installation from scratch. Apparently it might be outdated in a minor way. Still a landchad guide would be appreciated for installing without a docker.

federation is inherently for skittles people.

I don't get what you are trying to say here. Regardless, landchad guides already have pleroma and peertube, which use the same ActivityPub protocol. Landchad guides are for "building your own platform", and Lemmy is one's own platform for online forum discussions.

If PeerTube and Pleroma are featured on here, then you're kind of wrong on that front.

@cbrbygones ActivityPub is an objectively bad protocol, just because there's some software listed here which uses it, does not warrant more software to be added. The power of PeerTube lies in the http live streaming library which permits p2p video streaming, NOT it's ability to federate via ActivityPub. Have a great day!
