Mods resetting after relaunching the game.

Describe the Bug

After relaunching Medieval MC [FORGE] 1.20.1 v26.5 HF; skill tree, origin, equipped backpack (maybe more) got deleted but not items in vanilla slots (like armor or inventory). Maybe a coincidence but Minecraft Launcher updated for the 15 years anniversary when it occurred.

1.launch the modpack 2.start singleplayer world 3.notice ...

This is caused by resource load failure.

I recommend switching to ATLauncher
If you still have issues, remove the Resource Pack Overrides mod
If you get a message saying “Resource Reload Failed”, always restart your game instead of trying to join a world in this state.

Most likely resolved in v27 - if it still happens, try switching from Curseforge launcher to ATLauncher or Prism.
