Looks great but pressing any button crashed grub. It wasn't hard to fix (mount /boot from a live usb and delete the theme) but I thought I'd report this back. the minecraft theme works fine fwiw

using debian 12 / grub 2.06-13

Hi! tbh, this theme was more like a proof of concept of having a multicolored font with grub only supporting bitmap fonts. Maybe just out of curiosity, how many boot options did you have, were there a lot of letters drawn, what cpu do you have and what did the crash look like? (did it just freeze?).

I mean, grub probably wasn't made to be rendering the boot menu items 8 times at once, but I don't know what's really causing it to lag/crash so much. Sorry for the inconvenience!

three boot options, basically the default debian setup I think? the countdown for automatic boot went through, nothing happened, as soon as I pressed any button it disappeared and another uefi option (in this case netboot) happened. I'm running some sort of Alder Lake laptop CPU that should probably be enough for grub?
