A fix for Final Fantasy XVI that adds ultrawide/narrower support, uncaps framerate in cutscenes, lets you adjust gameplay FOV and much more.

Pre-rendered videos running at internal rather than native resolution #73

This was an issue reported by Digital Foundry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb-foBOBq1I at 13:07). Essentially, pre-rendered cinematics appear to be scaled down to your upscaler's internal resolution and then scaled with nearest neighbor to your display resolution, resulting in a pixelated and soft output. In my case, I'm running the game at 4K DLSS Quality (1440p internal) at maximum settings and the pre-rendered cinematics are noticeably pixelated/aliased, presumably due to the scaling. I was just wondering if there was a way for the mod to force these pre-rendered cinematics to run at the output/display resolution - in my case 4K.

These scenes are obvious because, at least with DLSS Frame Generation enabled, they run at half my FPS cap (120 FPS for real-time cutscenes, 60 for pre-rendered) and the real-time cutscenes are much higher quality in terms of image sharpness.

For you, it wont matter. The cutscenes are rendered at 1440P natively, there is no 4K version in the game files.

That's unfortunate. Thanks for the information!

I think this fix would be a nice addition! Dunno if its feasible and/or in this project's scope but here is my +1
