The Strøm open source speaker project have been started with the main goal of creating a fully functional "wifi speaker", but as an open sourced product.

This will be an exploratory task, as this is uncharted territory.
One of the main goals of this project, besides creating a wifi speaker, are to validate the local manufactoring concept. This concept both need to be validated here in Denmark (we reside in Copenhagen, Denmark), but also in more distant places like Chile or Dubai for instans.
We need to figure out how best to enable local production/fabrication of this speaker.
The idea are to first look at doing this locally (greater Copenhagen area in Denmark) for easy support and quick turn around time on changes, then perform more remote tests of the process (future task).
Currently the following questions needs answering:
How should ready made parts be source at different locations?
Parts like barrel socket, botton, drivers and PCB
Quality Assurence on fabricated speakers
Material quality
How can we ensure that the fabricated product meets the required quality?
How to ensure that the speaker measures correctly; within which margins?
Customization based on available materials
Like availability of different types of cloth and linoleum
Definition of Done
[ ] Economic feasibility of this manufactoring process is understood
[ ] First locally (same country) manufactured speaker are produced
