This is at least part of why 12th street sucks so much.

Keep this issue open until A.) at least 40 street trees have been planted or B.) This issue has been split into smaller issues for specific blocks.

Based on conversation with urban forester Nicholas Meyer and this press release he alluded to, may be getting some 12th Street trees:
