Contacts info not displayed in Phone app

Just installed CM12 on Xiaomi2 about a month ago and everything run smoothly and much faster than with the stock ROM. I've got only one major problem: the contacts info are not being accessed or found by the Phone app. It's pretty annoying for a phone!

I just upgrade to latest 2015.03.22 version, problem still exists.

I get my contacts from a server synced with DAVDroid.

Well that sounds like a problem of your app. Google Contact syncing works just fine.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't see your answer, so sorry about the late follow up. Syncing works just fine, it's the Phone & Message app that don't access the contact correctly.

I realise doing some further testing that I can't create a 'local' contact. By default (and I can't change it) the contacts are created in my existing DAVDroid account. This is probably the source of the problem. It sounds odd that this is not possible. I'll install Gapps to make further testing, though I'd rather have avoided it.

Also, not very related so let me know if I should create a separate issue entry:

I had to delete the account I was using for Contact sync to be able to use local contacts. Created a couple of contacts, but problem persist: can't get them identified either by Phone or Message app...

I installed Gapps for CM12 through CM rom manager, package 20141212. Dosen't make any difference regarding Contacts. And can't add a proper Gmail account though, can only add a Personal (IMAP) or Personal (POP3) accounts. Maybe I should manually install apk from the gapps package.

In any cases, the contacts don't seem to be accessible to Phone or Message. I don't see why having Gapps installed should make any difference.

Am I the only one having Contact problem here? It's pretty annoying not to be able to use them on a phone...
