Please add a menu applet to standalone DockX #1

Hello,

I think the standalone DockX is a nice thing.

But one thing that prevents me from using it and makes me use the xfce4-dockbarx-plugin instead, is that DockX is lacking a menu applet.

While searching for a solution, I came across the following thread:

https://answers.launchpad.net/dockbar/+question/119960

However, your answer is already about four years old.

So, I'd like to ask again:

Is there any chance you could add a menu applet to DockX?

Or is it already possible?

And if yes: How?

Regards

There is a menu applet. You can use cardapio within DockX, if you have cardapio installed.

Hello,

Cardapio currently is no longer maintained / no longer in development according to:

https://launchpad.net/cardapio/+announcement/11268

And the Cardapio PPA has also not been updated for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" as far as I can see:

https://launchpad.net/~cardapio-team/+archive/cardapio-ppa

So I don't see how the Caradapio applet inside DockX would help me.

Any alternative?

Regards

I think Webupd8 has cardapio in its ppa. It is quite well functioning even though it's not maintained.

Indeed, there's a fixed Cardapio available in the main WebUpd8 PPA. See step 5 from here: http://www.webupd8.org/2014/04/how-to-install-and-tweak-gnome.html
