Sticky D-Pad and Analog #114

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What version of BluezIME are you using?
Version 1.11

What Android device do you have? What Android version?
Samsung Galaxy s2 with 2.3.3
ASUS Transformer with 3.1

What gamepad are you using?
Phonejoy

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Rapidly change direction
2. "Flick" analog stick
3. Hold down for long time

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
D-pad and analog to return to "neutral" position. Input sticks

Please provide any additional information below.
I see this has been an issue for others but I alse see fixes have been made. I
am using the latest version from the market which I believe should contain the
fixes from issues 35 and 43 so this might be a different but related bug

Probably not important but the Transformer is running 3.2.1, not 3.1.

Also I have realised that all inputs stick so even button presses etc.

If it only happens when you do it "really fast", it could be that the data
reporting speed for the controller is too low, so you "fill up" the number of
messages that can be sent. This would cause a message to be dropped, and would
make things appear as you describe.

If you make a very tiny move with the analog stick while it is in "sticky
mode", does it become "un-sticky"?

Are the button presses consistently sticky or only when doing something rapidly?

Thanks for the reply

I have played with it a bit more and it seems to happen even when actions are
performed slowly. There are also times where it doesnt happen when you perform
fast actions

It tends to happen at random but can be triggered more frequently when moving
it fast if that makes any sense?

I havent tried a slow movement when it is sticky. I'll try it later and let you
know

Thanks again

Dean

Hi,

I tried what you said and slow movements do unstick it.

Is this an issue with bluez ime or is the handset faulty?

Thanks

Dean

Hmm, I don't have much to go on. The bug in issue #43 is fixed a long time ago,
and I have not had any other reports about sticky-ness, so I am guessing that
it is either something with your Bluetooth hardware or the Phonejoy unit.

It sounds as if the data suddenly "pauses" and then when you send a new package
(like move the stick slowly) the data resumes. If, for instance, it "sticks"
with a key pressed, can you "unstick" it by moving the analog pin?

Hi,

I have sent the pad back for replacement but have not received the new unit
yet. The guys said it might be an issue of irregular voltage or something like
that.

From what I can remember, what you described is the case.

I suggest closing this off and if the new unit is the same I'll open a new
issue.

Thanks very much for your help

Regards

Dean
