Use a Combination of MIDI Files and Constructed Tones #7

MIDI files. At some point, it would be nice to use MIDI files rather than the 
artificially constructed ones we use now.  How difficult would it be to play a 
MIDI file but then have specification of the position of the probe tone 
(assuming the last note is the probe)?   This would be very useful, but I’m 
wondering how difficult/time consuming it would be.  Several colleagues have 
asked for this and personally I would be interested in using drumset beats 
rather than woodblock taps, but I don’t know how much work this would take 
and I am aware that we are in a delicate stage with this now.  My main goal is 
shoring what we have developed and getting some of the planned “small 
steps” implemented that will greatly enhance our experimental options with 
small changes to the code.
