Sorry, I can't reproduce this. Is it possible that it's related to your graphics card / driver? Is the sculpt tool really the only tool that crashes? Other tools are working fine?
Hey Guys Same issue here as soon as I use a sculpting tool everything crashes. Do you have log files, Or a should i try and run this in shell and watch the output?
Update I got this error Running in Power-shell :
Error: EXCERTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Address: 0x00007ff6B729095E Module: C:\User******\Desktop\BlenderXR_Windows_numbers\BlenderXR_Windows_numbers\blender.exe
I moved the files to Downloads and still it wont work
finally got something to work however as soon as I get it in dynamic topology and try to sculpt it crashes right away.
The controls are nice but on bigger files with my beefy hardware it just studders toooo much only sometimes dose it allow me to sculpt but most of the time it as if nothing happened
Going to try some more testing Ill let you know how it goes; Ive been mostly programming on mac since 2013 and really having issues getting used to Windows again
Latest Update Supper glitchy crashes all the time
I put the program in Program files with correct files and i still get crashes I ran power shell as admin again in program files .blender.exe
Here is what was returned upon crash
Error : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Address : 0x00007FF678D93405 Module : C:\Program Files\BlenderXR\BlenderXR\blender.exe

Same issues here.
Software: Windows 10 Blender 2.82a - installed prior to: BlenderXR 2.81 (20200102). BlenderXR_SteamVR.dll & openvr_api.dll for WindowsMR
Hardware: CPU: i7 5820k GPU: GTX 980ti HMD: Valve Index
The toggle for dyntopo does not work correctly nor does dyntopo itself. Attempting to turn dyntopo on usually causes a CTD.
Changing sculpting tools with too many polygons loaded (i.e. the default sphere in the default sculpting file) always causes a CTD
Attempting to use the default sculpting tool on the default sphere in the default sculpting file always causes a CTD.
In addition, BlenderXR 2.81 (20200102) does not recognize my graphics card for CUDA rendering.
Everything else seems to be okay - mind you I've only been able to play with it for an hour or two so far since sculpting and visualization are my main scopes of use.
(I'll mention that it would be real handy to have orientation locks that can be toggled on and off while manipulating the view by squeezing the grip sensors. I.E. disable pitching, rolling or yawing & reset pitch/roll/yaw to zero when it is desirable to keep the scene coplanar with the real-world floor. It would help prevent sinking into/rising above floors when navigating the 3D scene.)

Running into same issues here, can't even try it out.

Note: Blender is not generating crash logs for this.
Edit: Decided to build the project and do some debugging since I really love the idea of this plugin. If I happen to find anything more I'll add it on here.
I have the same issue.
Win10 1909 Ryzen 3700x 32GB RAM RTX 2060 Super -latest drivers HMD: Valve index - complete kit bought week ago, latest firmware and latest regular release steamVR.
Downloaded BlenderXR_Windows_20200506 and the two DLLs for vive. It works fine till I start sculpting. I started with cube and it let me with dynamic topology sculpt it to sort of elongated sphere, then it crashed. When I started with sphere it just crashed when I touched it with sculpt tool. It generates folder but no log, it just instantly crashes.
EDIT: I tried it again starting with the cube and it actually let me sculpt for a long time. 15-30mins max. Then it crashed again without any logfile. However it was long enough for it to create autosave file! Which when I try to open again just opens blender and instantly crashes. I attached the autosave file, it might be useful? 14236_autosave.zip
same issue here as well, fresh download of the latest version via the website as of 4/10/2021 selecting any brush crashes blender
specs: Ryzen 3700x 32GB of ram EVGA 2070 sc HMD: HTC Vive Win10 pro 2004 OS build 19041.867
On Windows 10 pro-64-bit, with HTC Vive: I followed the steps provided https://www.marui-plugin.com/blender-xr/#download and downloaded from those links. The plugin works fine before opening a VR window and using the sculpt tool. It instantly crashes to the desktop upon using the sculpt tool in the VR window on anything more complex than a cube (default primitive). The issue appears much like the previously reported bug with the Oculus Rift, I'll link the Rift users' video for reference: https://youtu.be/xoHUA8AUn5Q
I am currently running Blender 2.8.1. The patch does not appear to have corrected this error.
