[Feature request]: add the ability to delete the exif metadata and compress the image #68

I installed the app from f-droid today and found it very nice and functional, plus it's very easy to use and intuitive. It's a shame that the f-droid version doesn't have automatic facial recognition, however: great job!

I think adding the ability to delete the exif metadata and compress the image would become a great all in one solution for sharing photos and images.

Hi and thank you very much for trying PrivacyBlur. Unfortunately, the client-side face detection is not available under a license compatible with F-Droid, so we needed to exclude it. The Play Store-version has it. I think both removing exif meta data and compressing the image would indeed be a great addition. I'll discuss with the team. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you for your response and to consider my proposal.

Regarding facial recognition I saw that in the readme it's reported that in the f-droid version it's not included and for me it's absolutely not a show stopper, in fact I really appreciate that you created a version for the official f-droid repository because I use a phone with lineageos 18.1 (android 11) without google services (neither microg nor gapps) and I don't even have a google account anymore so when possible I prefer to install apps from f-droid.

According to my tests, PrivacyBlur (latest F-Droid version) already deletes EXIF metadata.
