Does this mod give any performance benefits whatsoever for a pascal GPU or older? My friend has a GTX 970 and swears by this mod giving him a performance boost with high render distances, is this just placebo?

placebo this mod gets disabled and does nothing if u dont have a 16xx or above gpu
