This pull request addresses issues #1, #2, and #3.
In general I haven't been commiting changes to dist/* (even though the main repo does), but I committed them in the most recent commit of this PR to facilitate deployment.
Also worth mentioning: I removed husky to make it easier to compare code changes (husky's hooks change spacing and carriage returns in order to make code conform to external standards)
