Just took the update and I'm rockin'... I'm now also able to encrypt my
network without horrible performance and a temporary stall out every few
minutes.

Device: Motorola DROID RAZR on Verizon[4GLTE]
Firmware: OTA Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, (SysVer: 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US)
Tether Version: 3.2-beta2
Tether Configuration: defaults + Encryption, Access Control & Keepalive

The Process

Prerequisite: Fully charged Verizon RAZR/MAXX running latest ICS OTA,
completely stock, except for root, Superuser, and Android Wifi Tether
3.2-beta2(verified working, with the exception of encryption causing poor
performance)

1. install Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper(free) from Play Store

2. open Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper

3. hit "Protect Root" button

4. hit "Temporarily Unroot" button

5. exit Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper

6. open System Settings

7. go to About Phone

8. go to System updates, you should now have a dialog notifying you that an
update is available

9. hit "Update Now"

10. relax Until your phone is done installing the update, and is done rebooting
itself

11. open Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper

12. hit "Restore root"

13. exit Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper

14. open Android Wifi Tether 3.2-beta2

15. start AP, if it worked before it should work now.

notes: There is some sort of issue with bad Wifi reception on older RAZR
phones and the Jelly Bean update, for which Verizon appears to be swapping out
devices. Could be the issue?

On ICS, encryption caused connection & performance issues, which I believed to
be an issue with ICS, or atleast the version of ICS the RAZR was running. This
problem does appear to be greatly improved with Jelly Bean, though it still
seems to bog a just a little when hammered(light torrenting, 2 HD netflix
streams, a youtube 720HD stream, some browsing, and repeatedly running
speedtest.net), in comparison to leaving the network open and using just Access
Control as I had been.

Aloha,
tekahuna

P.S. Are you sure that you don't have Access Control enabled, and if so, are
you sure your client is authorized?
