Sprint Galaxy s3 will run and will broadcast SSID but then get a authentication error occurred #1763

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
This is a samsung galaxy S3, on Sprint model SPH-l710, very popular phone

Which firmware is installed?
l710.14

What version of wireless tether are you using?
latest, 3.3-pre2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. active tethering
2. try to connect with any device
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
connect to wireless network.  

Please provide any additional information below.
I have tried "auto" and all samsung devices,  I have tried connecting with 
multiple devices and currently encryption is turned off.  I have tried multiple 
devices (tablets laptops desktops)

I have also tried version up to 4 back.
