Not working in rooted HTC Tattoo

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
HTC Tattoo

Which firmware is installed?
Android 1.6

What version of wireless tether are you using?
I have tried 1.60_HTC and 2.0-pre10

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Root the HTC Tattoo following the steps in theunlockr.com
2. Install the tether program and follow the step of BT tethering
3. Also try the WiFi tethering with and without encryption

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The device could be connected to PC through BT but no networking service
was found.
Also the device could be decoverred by WiFi, but the PC couldn't get a
correct IP and the program didn't get any client. Then I tried to browse a
page in PC, of cause it didn't work, but the "Up" rate was increased.
Though encryption was enabled in the tethering program, it was also
discoverred as not encrypted.

Please provide any additional information below.
- The tethering program is installed by appInstaller
- The Tattoo is confirmed to be rooted by successful "su" command in "adb
shell"
- Do I need to try to load a custom ROM into Tattoo?

We have this command already in the startup-precedure for hero-devices. Could
somebody provide the output of "adb shell getprop"? With that we would be able 
to
integrate this workaround in the next release.

Thanks, using  "ip route delete table gprs" works for htc-tattoo.

Just can't get it done. I opened adb shell and given the following commands
# ip route delete table gprs
RTNETLINK answers: No such process

# su 
su
# ip route delete table gprs
RTNETLINK answers: No such process

The tattoo is rooted and the kernel version is 2.6.29-gf922713
htc-kernel@and18-2#117. Tried the 2_0 pre_10.apk and 1_60_htc.apk. The 
connection
signal set up by the 2_0_pre_10 cannot be seen by any devices. The signal set 
up by
the 1_60 can be seen and can be connected to but the connecting device is 
unable to
use the internet connection.

This workaround is no longer needed. 
Just download wifi tether 2.0.1 and it should directly work as it is
