Which device (manufacturer, type)?
Motorola Droid 1

Which firmware is installed?
Android 2.3, Simply Stunning rom

What version of wireless tether are you using?
2.0.7

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click to start tethering.
2. See "Unable to start tethering. Is your device 'rooted'?"
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect it to start actually allowing me to tether my device. Instead I see
"Unable to start tethering. Is your device 'rooted'?"

Please provide any additional information below.

My device IS rooted. I am running a custom rom, and I am not sure if that
could somehow be the problem, but I think it is Android 2.3 that is causing the
problem. It worked on the same rom under eclair.

Your "su environment" is fucked-up! "/system/bin/su" has probably wrong
permissions or the Superuser-app is not correctly installed.

I had the same problem running Simply Stunning v5.1 ROM (android 2.3). I ended
up uninstalling Wifi-tether app and reinstalling and it worked fine after.
