qa and analysis reports are too heavy - slow loading #12

They are live and available in Synapse, but user experience is not good.

@kdaily Can we turn off the preview?

kdaily commented 6 years ago

Good question, I don't think so but I'll check to be sure.

kdaily commented 6 years ago

We cannot. What we would have to do is to upload new versions of the HTML after I removed you from the special Synapse team that allows for full HTML/Javascript to be rendered.

@kdaily What is the next step here and will it help the user experience without me creating lighter versions of these reports?

kdaily commented 6 years ago

I would say the only way to improve user experience it to make them lighter.

Going back to a version that isn't interactive inside Synapse is a step back from what we promised the EAB last year, but keeping them as is poses a problem.

We have an open issue to not render large HTML and prompt the user to open it in a new tab, but that won't be live by the next meeting.

It should be pretty straightforward? I would just drop half or more of the ggplotly plots and call it a day.

@kdaily This refers to the prior MEMA datasets. The reports I spot checked don't offer a preview so this issue has been resolved and can be closed.

Yup! on our side we instituted a 5MB limit.
