Adding Metering on Switch Dashboard (Enhancement) #19

Would you be able to add a metering option to the Switch Dashboard?

Hubitat have implemented this functionality in their Group / Scene and it helps avoid congestion to the Z-Wave mesh - very useful when there are a lot of devices being updated at once, as is the case with the Switch Dashboard.

Thanks!

What do you mean with metering? Do you mean power usage displayed on an LED or something else? All my things are packed up in storage until March since we had an emergency move a few months ago so unfortunately any Hubitat stuff will have to wait until then :(

I mean a delay between sending commands from one switch to another. It’s the term that Hubitat uses in Groups and scenes. A way to avoid overwhelming the mesh.

Sorry to hear about the emergency move…

Ah thanks for clarifying! Metering would probably have helped before I decided to rip out most of my Z-Wave devices except the HomeSeers because of Z-Wave storms. Got a bit sour with Hubitat after they just ignored days of debugging and sniffing and blamed it on my setup.

Anyway, I'll boot everything up early March when I unpack my life :)

Ouch! Yea, that would be annoying! I think metering would have made a big difference - that is what I am hoping to try as I have a lot of Inovelli switches, and I think adding a delay between messages would improve things. Moving them off S2 and minimizing power reporting also helped.

I also plan to get some of their upcoming Zigbee version - I suspect a change will be required to ensure they are seen as supported by the app….

Let me know if I can help with any of this - I am not a developer, but can typically hack my way through things and test them.
