I really don't know how to answer this one.
I would like to when a user click on the link. it shows go to the product list
page.
I think you should ask the client to make sure.

yes, isn't that exactly what I mean,
when a user click on the picture (category). it shows go to the product list page with that particular category.

after analyzing the project, I have some suggestion towards the flow of the
project
1. The product menu will be gone, instead replaced with the main category page
(we could probably use
PRODUCT as the name for this category page). The current productlist page can
be placed under Admin menu
named as "add product"
2. replace the catalog page into sub-catalog page.
3. when user goes to the main catalog (product) page, and choose a catalog, it
will bring user to the sub-
catalog page. so he/she can either add/view an existing sub catalog.
4. when he/she wants to view a product from that sub catalog, a users clicks on
that sub catalog and will
display a list products which related to that sub catalog page.
do you think it involves too many steps to view a products? need your input

so basically content won't need to change tremendously, just to do a bit of
switching in between
