Hi, after browsing the services, I was wondering why we don't see a service for oncology (https://mimic.mit.edu/docs/iv/modules/hosp/services/ ) ? I noticed when looking at my data that patients who are in the careunit Hematology/Oncology are frequently under the service OMED, which corresponds to orthopedic medicine as listed on the website. Is there a medical/logistical reason that patients under the orthopedic medicine service would typically be in Hematology/Oncology units? Thanks in advance for your help.
Oh that documentation is definitely incorrect. ORTHO is the orthopaedic service, OMED is the oncology service. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll try to put in a fix.
