An incomplete thought for later, but it would be interesting if we could offer functionality for crowdsourcing annotations for published projects.
e.g. The chest x-rays are published. On the publication page, there is a button saying "Annotate data", which takes the user to a tool that allows him/her add annotations (e.g. labelling pacemakers).
This would create a nice motivation for people to publish data on PhysioNet (if you publish, you benefit from crowdsourced annotations).
Some things that need thinking about are:
How could we make the tool generalisable enough to be applied easily to different datasets?
Do the annotations become part of the published dataset? if so, how do we deal with versioning?
