hyperlinks not detected in preview #300

I was looking at the preview for eICU-CRD, and the referenced links don't seem to be hyperlinked:

e.g., https://github.com/mit-lcp/eicu-code and http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/sdata.2018.178

There probably is a better way to handle links, but automagically hyperlinking would be preferable to what is there now.

As a general policy, we should probably encourage authors to avoid URLs in the main text and handle them as references (added to the reference list and cited in the text).
