Images needed for 4.0 #275

Closed justinanderson closed 9 years ago

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

I should break this out into multiple issues.

Many things listed here already have existing artwork from our earlier releases, and it would be good to not stray too far from what users have been trained to look for.

We're planning to support the iPhone 6 Plus shortly after the release of 4.0, so let's do 1x, 2x, and 3x versions of everything now.

I still need to write down dimensions for most of these.

Miscellaneous Accessory Images #457

Size of these in main drawer should be at most 32 x 32pt. Map, Events, Emergency Info, and Scanner should also have 22 x 22pt versions for use as UITableViewCell accessory views.

Size of these in place categories screen should be at most 26 x 26 pt.

@aaron10buuren @jlungaro Welcome aboard. I'm going to use this issue as a parent issue for all of the outstanding art needs for the project. I'll leave it assigned to myself and break out each logical piece into separate issues so we can have focused discussions about each module.

Let me know if you need any extra permissions to get setup.

jlungaro commented 9 years ago

@justinanderson Hi Justin, I have added shuttle assets for you to review below. I'm imagining the "red pin" to be the generic location marker for maps module as well. Thanks! mit_shuttles_11-10-01 mit_shuttles_11-10-02 mit_shuttles_11-10-03

@justinanderson - updated bar buttons, can display 1x and 3x as well if needed. mit_bar-buttons_11-11

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@aaron10buuren Those are pretty blurry. For 1x and 2x, all of the vertical and horizontal lines should be pixel aligned.

As I mentioned in the description for this issue, we already have a version of the hamburger icon from guischmitt that we're happy with, we just need a 3x version of it. Though now that I look at it again, I notice that it's using the wrong color. It should be rgb(163, 31, 52) instead of rgb(154, 30, 52).

Zoomed in, you can see the difference in sharpness.

@justinanderson

Updated icons for Bar Buttons and Module Icons in my folder on the dropbox folder you've shared with us. If there is one set, it is at 2x (want to get that set before recreating at 1 and 3x).

Shuttles maps and icons also updated.

Will add category icons that we have made either today or tomorrow.

Let us know if you have any questions.

guischmitt commented 9 years ago

Hey @justinanderson quick question, on Libraries you said "Placeholder for library books with no cover image or with the cover not loaded yet". Shouldn't those be different assets? Is there an activity indicator for loading the covers?

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@guischmitt I think those should be the same image, and that there shouldn't be a loading indicator. I think I'd be ok with it just being a light grey rectangle rather than anything too distracting.

intrepidtong commented 9 years ago

@justinanderson regarding "Track user location (floating)" and "List (floating)" in the Miscellaneous section - are these still needed? I checked with the guys and got the impression that Maps have tool bars and we do not need floating icons anymore?

intrepidtong commented 9 years ago

@justinanderson a reminder to review the maps pin (numbered) icons in the waiting for approval folder : )

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@intrepidtong re: floating buttons, that's correct. We decided to switch everything from floating buttons to toolbars, since floating buttons would overlap with MapKit's legal link.

intrepidtong commented 9 years ago

@justinanderson cool. So it's safe to check them off on the list I assume?

guischmitt commented 9 years ago

Hey @justinanderson do you have more information about what Events > "Menu indicator for calendars when searching" is referring to? Thanks!

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@guischmitt For Events, that's the dropdown arrow that looks like this in the App Store app but currently is slightly odd in ours:

thingy

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@guischmitt And I'm happy with the way the "…" more button looks now, so I'll check that off.

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@intrepidtong Yeah, just checked them off. Also, I've moved several of the exported assets to the General folder in the developer dropbox, so those are ready to be used now.

guischmitt commented 9 years ago

@justinanderson The dropdown arrow is now up for review. Waiting for feedback about the Module, Misc and Library sections.

justinanderson commented 9 years ago

@guischmitt Moved the events arrow to approved.

guischmitt commented 9 years ago

@justinanderson

The tour arrow is up for review. Waiting for feedback about the Module icons.
