Some authors, particularly Eric von Hippel, are getting multiply-counted downloads on the map. The problem comes down to their being multiple name variants bubbling up from DSpace@MIT, which are being stored in the summary collection as separate records. The visualization UI (at least for the map) then performs a query for "all authors with this ID" and gets back each record - which are then summed and displayed incorrectly.
Clicking on multiple papers triggers a different query logic, as does exporting the data to a CSV. This problem only applies to overall author visualizations on the map.
Over the long term, the logic for querying the summary collection probably needs to be further unified to prevent strange occurrences like this - it should be all or nothing.
