Spread map color range by lightening the zero value #59

Here are two different palettes with slight variations - the original palette (which extends from darkness 42 - 81) and a slightly expanded version (40 - 90). The biggest change is that the lightest shades are pushed closer to white. palette_expanded palette_original

Here's another view with the expanded palette, with a sparser dataset that relies more heavily on the empty coloring. I'm not sure that the color contrast is sufficient against the white of the water. palette_expanded2
