Re-reading Darcy's original comment, there may be a need to develop a phone/responsive strategy for the site. Currently, from Sean's testing, the site scales down accurately to the smaller screen size - but that may not be the best UI due to how small things get. I'm not sure that simply linearizing the smallest screens makes the most sense. I'm also not sure whether this is something we should kill ourselves for to make the initial release?
I'm leaving this active and on the 1.0/initial release milestone for now, but we might want to discuss.
Based on discussions in our meeting today, I'm moving this issue to the 1.1 milestone, and possibly later - the consensus was that developing a mobile/responsive layout shouldn't delay the launch. The charts and maps are as usable as possible on small screens currently.
Closing this as resolved - the UI is usable on 10" tablets and 7" tablets. Making a phone-friendly application for this data is probably best considered a separate project given the screen sizes involved.
