[Bug]: Literal Sky Block causes shaders to have issues #130

Closed Nagapito closed 5 months ago

Nagapito commented 5 months ago

Modpack version

7.1.7

Description

This mod, that is not updated for more then an year uses some funky code to design skyboxes on blocks but in the process, it breaks shaders pipeline making any attempt to use shaders with the pack impossible.
Also, the mod does have performance issues, as the developer says in the mod page and using a lot of these blocks causes issues.

So, in the end its a mod that cant be properly used and probably not used by majority of players and prevents other mods of working correctly like oculus!

On a single player we can just remove the mod but if I am connecting to a server... We dont have that luxury...

I suggest removing this mod from the pack!

Steps to reproduce

You can see what is happening when this mod is present and you try to use shaders in this reddit post:

Expected behavior

Shaders should work correctly

Anything else to note?

The shaders will not work correctly even if I remove this mod, for the simple reason that I didn't design the modpack to play with Shaders.

So this is not an issue of the modpack, but of the Literal Sky Block mod.

If I had installed something to render shaders on Ragnamod VII I would have considered removing the mod, but in this case there are no plans to remove it.

If you want to remove the mod and see with a server manager about removing it from their side, do yourself a favor! But as I say quite often: If you remove or add mods to a modpack, no matter which one, then you distort it and therefore expose yourself to risks of crashes which are not normal.

Now, how can I change my mind? If you can get a hundred people to this issue post supporting your suggestion, then I will listen to everyone.

But it's a shame, because I really like Literal Skyblock, and as said above, I didn't design the modpack to play with Shaders.

But I will keep my word on the hundreds of people reacting here!
