capitalize references to scripture #22

Scripture

Heb 5:6

Just-as he also says in a different scripture, ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.’ {Ps. 110:4}

This is the only place with scripture not capitalized. Should it be?

Law of God

Capitalized:

Luke 2:23,24,39 as "Law of the Lord"
several places with "Law of Moses"
Ephesians 2:15 with "Law of commandments"

Not capitalized:

Romans 7:22 with "law of God"
other places with "law of our forefathers", "law of the Jews", "law of the husband", etc.
many places with just "the law"

It at least seems inconsistent to capitalize "Law of the Lord" but not "law of God".

Everything not specifically or contextually the Law of Moses is just law of ????. We would actually like to drop Law of Moses to just law of Moses but it will never fly. When just "the law" we are leaving all lower case, let the read decide.

Law of commandments is for sure the Law of Moses.
You decide if:

We hate doing any kind of commentary.

I think it is right to not want to add more information to a translation than the original text comes with, but I think that it is important to recognize that no matter how literal the translation is, some info loss is unavoidable. #25 is an example of this (something I learned yesterday). For this reason I think of these elements of "commentary" (red letter, capitalization, punctuation), for the most part, as helpful aids to the English reader in their interpretation since they don't have the advantage of someone adept in koine.

If you want to capitalize "commandments" here I would push for it to be everywhere.
