Differences from previous methodology

• [x] The bio crust field is changing from a y/n to a repeat for a lu list of different biocrust morpho groups. Similar to invasive species and disturbance.
• [x] Invasive list should be populated based on the native field of the master plants table. There should be an option to add new species not on the list or record unknowns.
• [x] Frequency is different for new data, every 5 meters starting at 0 and ending at 45. Same as shrub height. The size of the plot is also different. So that we can incorporate older data, there should be a field for quadrat size.

• I know the plants lookup is placeholder data right now, but we should add an "other" option so we can test that scenario
• Plants lookup has duplicate "no data" and "no plant" entries
• need up to date phenophase/distribution lookups
• No disturbance is currently getting stored as "0". Should we replace this with something more descriptive, or keep it?

The duplicate NoData and NoPlant fields were a test while trying to figure out how to show those when filtering by tree or shrub. Not sure of the best method, but may be able to tweak the filter to avoid this

  • None present works for me. At SODN we used NP which could stand for "No Plant/None Present"

I also added a figure folder in the 2023_IU_Reboot folder. I'll start populating that with some of the necessary figures (Disturbance Codes, Photo Diagram).

Potential changes to frequency form

• [x] Can you add an "Unknown (see photos)" option to the disturbance and biocrust lists.
• [x] For both biocrust and disturbance, can you add the option to take more than one photo. Would that require a repeat?
• [x] There are only 2 quadrat sizes, the current 1m2 and the legacy size .25m2. Could that just be formatted like the transect field with just those two options? 1m2 and 0.25m2 (Legacy). Could default to 1m2
• [x] Can you add functionality for recording an unk as an invasive species?

Updated master csv lookups for biocrust and disturbance. Should automatically refresh in survey.

Can definitely add option for multiple photos. It can be done without a repeat - will test how this affects custom filenames. The unk functionality is there, but the plants list seems to be missing an "UNK" entry. Should work once that's added.

Multiple photos work now. @HarpoMark can you add Nativity = N/A to the unk entry? @ElectricGr I'm currently filtering species lists by park and nativity. Anything else I should filter on?

How are you filtering by park?

There's a park column in the species list that indicates which parks a species is expected to occur in.

Not in the new master plants table. That's an option down the road, but it does not currently include that information.

Yes, include a way to filter by park. Currently, all species in that list are set to be present in all parks, excluding one Mark changed for testing purposes. The attribution by park will not be useful for some time to come, but we may as well include that functionality.

Phenophase chart does not draw. It points to a file that doesn't exist.

@HarpoMark This form looks great. The only issue I encountered is that you can add points beyond the length of the transect 50, 55, -5, -10 and so on. This isn't a big deal as people will know not to add records for these locations. If it's an easy fix great. If not, don't worry about it. -Can you change the format of disturbance to match Bio Crust?
