Actually, as I lay in bed last night, I decided that this statement might be completely false. It might actually run slower. I have not done any performance measurements. So this is more of an FYI pull req, rather than a serious one, right now.

Per issue #88 I am closing this unmerged. FWIW, however, you may want to add the documentation here, anyway.
