In the ARI Track design related to this issue in DASH http://mpegx.int-evry.fr/software/MPEG/Systems/DASH/spec/-/issues/224 we would need a unique identifier for the track within a CMAF. The track_id seems to be most logical, but CMAF has no requirement that track_ids need to be different within switching set or a presentation. to the contrary, it may even be the case that they are the same if you use bitstream switching.
It would be good to get a unique identifier, preferably using the track_id. Discussion welcome. Additional use cases as well.
