Retargeting the ToDo app? #2

I was trying to think of something hackish to do with the todo app (along the lines of involving Twitter in some way...).

Would it be interesting to do a kind of github client rather than a strict todo app? 'Projects' would be github projects, and 'tasks' could be issues. There's an API apparently: http://develop.github.com/

I like this idea (but I don't Facebook Like it, that's nuts).

Could we make it do both so that folks that want to do regular todo list stuff could and then people that want to track GitHub projects could do that too?

Cool thinking Bill, it would be great to get some exposure to a web-based API.

I'm shocked and dismayed that you don't like "Facebook Like". It's so Web 3.0...so AOL 1994.

I believe tracking todo lists and GitHub project issues are sufficiently different that trying to wrap both into one app would be complicated. Maybe not unmanageable, but how much complexity do we want piled on?

I would only do one or the other. If we only did GitHub issues, I think the whole latitude longitude stuff would go away...Mickey? Any thoughts?

Agreed, the world doesn't need another todo list app and a GitHub client would be most excellent. Mickey and I have been chatting the backchannel a bit, look for an email later today with details.

After writing my note, I realized that one could use github to manage a regular todo list. Would that be considered abuse of the service?

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with any Tom, Dick, and Harry forking my "15th Anniversary of Quantum Leap Party" project...
