To a single higher-dimensional image if the dimensions of the underlying images match (e.g. multi-echo fMRI data).
As raised here.
I don't think this would be very clean as part of
mrconvert. It would perhaps be better as a standalone command,dcmextract, which would get the list of available series, perform a string match against the user-specified request, and output that series to a new image.
