Involvement On Campus #3

Meet with new Students and Welcome them to the campus. ---> Brainstorming ideas to welcome new students. ---> Creating Events to accommodate freshmen students the week before school starts. ---> Presenting projects for display around campus to make the association aware. ---> Having a table on welcome week at campus mall to make our selves known (ask Steve how to set up the table.)

Seeing as my school e-mail has been deactivated the suggested officers to email Steve would be @Sleekice @Toi-Sh and @rmk8512

I suggest that the three of you use this comments section to come up with an email that one of you will send and then provide responses.

One of the things that @priary @chapagaisa and I did last year was to go to each Computer Science class and any introductory Physics/Math classes and give a short 5 minute presentation to introduce the organization and welcome students.

Presenting projects has been more of a hindrance than a help over the past few years in my opinion. While some find it useful the attendance rates have fallen with more presentations. Last year we let the members decide to pass an amendment to remove research presentations as a required part of the constitution for each officer; the vote passed. The research rarely panned out into a presentation and it put more stress on officers than the value provided to other members. If we can find a small project that all officers would be interested in working on together than maybe we can do something?

I remember we talked about having a booth for ACM in Sidewalk Cafe. Are we still doing that or...?
