failed install on Win10 #124

Open JDonMTPY opened 3 years ago

Hi After installing Anaconda (ver 3.8) on Win10 and the step for installing the following packages failed to complete netcdf4 & pyyaml.

Has anyone seen this before? Regards John

Hi @JDonMTPY Try to use pip instead conda to install them.

Thanks for the advice but not being a programmer, I'm not really on top of this material/python/githubs etc. I installed Python 3.8.6 which installed PIP seemingly successfully. I then ran "pip install mtpy" with mtpy-1.1.3.tar.gz which put a heap of stuff into C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python38\ Any more suggestions must welcome.

My mean was install netcd4 and pyyaml by pip.

@zhang01GA or @brenmous, any other suggestions? I have not encountered this issue. I would agree to install mtpy via git as the mtpy pip package is a bit out of date. Another option is to install mtpy and sub-packages into an environment in anaconda https://docs.conda.io/projects/conda/en/latest/user-guide/tasks/manage-environments.html. This has worked for me in the past when I have had problems installing packages in anaconda.

Thanks Alison

I must admit I was really excited when I discovered this material. While these suggestions may be straight forward to experienced github & python folk they are not to me unfortunately.
